Paid off estate loan and received reconveyance, but reconveyed to her estate, not us...We inherited a condo from a friend. The estate granted it to us and we recorded the grant deed with the county. It still had a mortgage w/ Countrywide. But after trying to deal with them, we decided to pay it off. When they sent the Full reconveyance it looks like it was deeded back to the estate trustee. Do we need to to go through the granting and recording thing all over again?
Hi proprint!
Welcome to forums!
You have mentioned that the estate granted the condo to you and you even recorded the grant deed. In that case, it's your property now. I don't think the lender can deed it back to the estate trustee. Did you inform the lender that the property was transferred to you?
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Thank you Sussane. Yes, I think that makes sense. It did cause me to call the Recorder/Assessor's office. It's a good thing I did, because they had it recorded properly, but the property tax bill was going to the estate. Good Grief. Anyway were being very careful about giving anything that could be construed as "legal advice." I got the impression that the reconveyance removing the lien did not screw up the title. So I think I'm fine. Thanks so much for your response.
Hey proprint,
The property tax bill was going to the estate because you may not have changed the names in the property tax bill. You could have spoken to the tax department and changed the names on the bill.
