My hausband and I have inheireted my family home after my mothers death in 08- my parents were divorced in 07. now my mom died the day before they were going to court over the division of assets, my dad refuseed to pay the monetary amount the judge had set-which my mother was going to use to pay off mortgage and etc. After her death he demanded that I sign the house back over to him and when I wouldn't put anything in writing he walked out the door. (the day after her death) We had the will probated. The process was already started when I received a letter from my dads attorney demanding I probate the will or give the property over to the next benifeciary-(which is my husband anyway). I beleive there was approx. $47000. owed on the house which I think my dad paid -when I refused to pay HIS mortgage. Now my question is how do I borrow money against the property to help pay the taxes and other expenses incurred during this undertaking which has left my credit in terrible shape along with having lost my job a year after moving into the house. My husband credit isnt that bad because I was putting everything under my name before her death. I despritely need some guidance. I have noone to ask because my family feels sorry for my dad and my brother and sister where estranged from my mother and were left nothing but personal items of which they didnt want several of. Please if some one can help. I'm tapped out because of fighting lawyers getting nothing accomplished.
