My father n law is giving us his property and need to know how to transfer ownership to my husbands name. Without a title company and a lawyer is it possible?
Hi clau,
If your father-in-law wants to transfer the property to your husband, he can sign a quit claim deed. He will sign the deed as grantor and your husband will receive the title as grantee. Once the deed is signed, get it notarized and recorded. However, it is always better to consult an attorney while changing the title to the property.
