I suggested that we run a credit report. The prospect balked. No, she wasnt ready for me to see their credit. I thanked her for her time but told her that I had no idea if they would even be able to qualify for a loan without reviewing their credit.

Hi summer!
Welcome to the forums!
You must have some documents stating that your grand-dad has left the property or the land to you and your siblings. So when you called the police, you should have mentioned that about that. You can even speak to your dad saying that the property was left to you and your siblings. If things are still not fine, then you can take legal help.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

muthu what was that response? was it supposedly concerning the georgia mountains? it didn't make sense in that regard - looks like you're in the wrong forum.
summer i don't know what to do to solve your problem except to suggest you engage the assistance of a real estate attorney to settle the property issue.
