removal of deceased members on grant deed

Posted on: 30th Aug, 2010 01:01 pm
Hello, what procedure would i need to do to remove my deceased mother and 2 brothers from the grant deed, I only have my mothers and one of my brothers death certificate. Would it make any difference if the brothers were married at the time of their death. Also, the remaining siblings are married, do their spouses need to sign off anything on this grant deed, seeing as it has all the siblings as heirs to the property.
Hi jboogie!

Welcome to forums!

You can contact the county recorder's office and file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office. This will help you in removing your deceased mother and brothers from the deed. The heirs of your deceased brother will also be able to claim heirship to the property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
