I bought my house over 25 years ago, before I met my wife and put my sisters name on it as one of the owners. My wife and I are contemplating getting a divorce and her name is not on the deed. I would like to transfer my half to my children before this takes place to avoid my wife from splitting my half. Is this legal?

Your wife's name is not on the property deed. In such a situation, she won't be able to claim anything from the property. If you wish, you can definitely transfer your share of the property to your kids and they will become one of the owners of the property.
