My boyfriend of 18 months and I bought a townhouse together. He paid all the money toward the house but I have money in a big boat and furniture for the townhouse. We have a JTWROS deed. I never signed a promissory note or was ever asked to put money into the house. We live in Alabama and we are seniors. House is paid for. He got cold feet and now wants me off the deed. He offered a small amount and if it were not a hardship on me to move, Id take it and go, but I want him to give me a little more for agrivation, humiliation and the fact that I have to buy more furniture and pay a mover. We are headed to court for Division. What are the chances a judge will look favorable upon me about this and grant me half of the value of the property? Thanx a bunch.
Welcome katekastorff,
If your name is mentioned on the property deed as one of the owners, then you will have the rights to claim half of the property. There are chances that the judge may be favourable to you.

Hi katekastorff,
I agree with what Adonis has said. If you are the owner, then you can definitely claim your rights and the other person is bound to give you the dues.
Thanks
