house deed and mortgage

Hi

I split from a partner some time ago. We have a joint mortgage on a house that he has paid since I left, we are both also named on the deeds. I have just noticed that he has placed the house on the market. Where do I stand? I havent signed any documents from the solicitor to say i would remove my name from the deeds and the mortgage is still in joint names. Is is possible he has had my name removed from the deeds even if the mortgage is still in joint names? Ho do deeds and mortgages work?

No. But if I were you I'd go down to City Hall and review the recorded Deed, to make sure it's accurate and includes you. If it doesn't, it's fraud and you should start legal action immediately.
