My mom listed my sister on the deed to the house and not me. She died and we are her only two living children. Do I have any right to some portion of the property?
choopanoke,
it is sad hear about death of your mother. if deed was notarized & registered at local country's office, it is legal.
if yes, you do not have any right on it.
one more thing. is your sister only owner as mentioned in deed? or your mther's name is also mentioned. pl specify it.

Hi,
If your mom has quit claimed property only to your sister then your sister will be sole owner of property & its true that, you have not any author to this property.
If you mother's name mentioned on property then you can get her share, so you have to know that, is your mother's name mentioned on property.
Take help of your attorney.
Thanks & Regards.

Did she leave a Will or Living Trust, describing who gets what? If not, her Estate will need to go through Probate, and you'll receive a chance to "challenge" her portion of the Estate during the Probate process.
