adding spouse to deed

Posted on: 06th Mar, 2010 10:20 pm
I inherited property from my parents My husband and I purchased more property and I was told I needed to put his name on the deed to have a better chance of getting the loan for purchasing the property with his income also. I now want to divorce him. Can I still have sole ownership of my home? Property I inherited is free and clear and we both were working and paying off the loan to purchased the property that we bought together
Hi,

If you & your husband both mentioned on property deed then you are not be a sole owner of property, if only your name mentioned on property deed then you are sole owner of property. If you are live in community property state then you both are owners of property.

Are you both mentioned on deed or not?

Thanks & Regards.
