My father died he had a house that should have went to his wife. I told her I did not want anything. But now I'm getting bills for taxes on that house and fines because the grass is too high. I didn't go to court because like I said I told everyone especially his wife I didn't want anything. but the wife signed off on the house I guess at court and since I didn't go to court to state I didn't want anything the house was put in my name. So How do I get this off my back.
Hi Guest,
You should contact your deceased father's wife and quitclaim deed the property back to her. But before doing so, you should first check whether the property is really in your name.

Hi Guest!
Welcome to forums!
I don't think it is possible to quitclaim deed the house to the state. You can contact the county recorder's office in order to find out whether or not the property is in your name.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Contact a real estate agent to sell the property cheap and quick, or you can quitclaim the property to the wife.
