Adding a name to a deed to give joint ownership to a recentl

Posted on: 08th Oct, 2009 05:57 pm
My son is in a relationship with a woman who recently purchased a house in her name only. What needs to be done to add his name to the title to insure that the house becomes a joint ownership as he has equal moneyinvested in the closing and will be paying half of tthe payment and other costs involved each month.
Hi Dale,

The woman can sign a quitclaim deed and add your son to the property deed. Once your son's name is added to the property deed, your son would become a co-owner of the property. Thus, he would have equal rights to the property.

Thanks
