upon my husbands death i am confussed and wanting to find out how to keep my home , he was the only one listed on the loan, and he had me put on the deed how do i keep our home

my husband passed away and the property was in his name along with the loan on the house i am listed on the deed and i want to keep our home but i need to know what to do and how to do it
probably you will have to conatct the bank and provide them the details

and refinance the loan in your name

Hi longbva,

You can file an affidavit of heirship and remove your deceased husband's name from the property deed. Once you do so, you will have to refinance the loan in your name. Thus, you would become liable for the property dues. If you keep on paying the mortgage dues regularly, your property would be safe.
