In 2007 my mother and I completed a Life est. Deed. I keep reading "Enhanced" Life Estate Deed in the above responses. We are presently applying for Medicaid benefits for my mother, as she is presently recovering at an in-patient skilled nursing facility. Is the property protected? Facility Administrators have suggested a "Ladybird Deed.

Hi MJ!

Welcome to forums!

A ladybird deed is also known as an Enhanced Life Estate Deed. You can contact an attorney and get a ladybird deed drafted. Your mother can sign the deed and transfer the property to you. This will not affect your mother's Medicaid benefit. Moreover, you will be able to save the property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
