How to transfer propert deed after aunt passes away?

Posted on: 08th May, 2011 02:00 pm
M aunt passed away in 2008. She left no will and she only has 3 acres of land. I have paid the back taxes on the land. Which consist of 2006 to present. Is there away to avoid probate court and get the land deed in my name. I have read where people say file and affidavit of hearship but when looking at those it says non family can only feel them out. What can I do to avoid probate and get the land deed in my name?
Hi stephens,

If there are no other heirs to your aunt's property, then you might be able to file an affidavit of heirship. Nevertheless, I will suggest you to have a word with a real estate attorney in this regard and sort out the matter.
