My wife owned a home prior to our Marraige, a freind moved in shortly after she bought the property and was obsessed with her, When we got together she went a little off the reservation and started stalking me, and became abusive to my wife, which made her leave her home, anyway they signed and notarized a lease with option to buy agreement, that allowed the tenant to pay the mortgage company and taxes to the respective places, and we notified both of our address and phone if something should come up short. Five years passed and no problems, then I receive a summons of foreclosure, and am notified that a quitclaim was signed what are my wifes and my legal options, she does not remember ever signing a quit claim, only a lease? this is in FL[/url]
Hi MntnLakeMan!
Welcome to the forums!
If there is a mortgage on the property and if that is not being paid on time, then the lender can start off the foreclosure process. If your wife's name is on the mortgage, then the foreclosure will impact her credit as well.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi MntnLakeMan,
Well, a lease cannot be changed to quitclaim suddenly. If you feel something fraudulent has happened, then you can get in touch with a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this regard.
