I am in the process of completing a quitclaim deed to remove my name from a property and was wondering how to complete the Legal Description. I have the property information from the county, but I don't know how to translate it to a legal property description. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
hello ,
You need to visit your near mortgage consultant , that is better for this problem .

Hi Neena!
Welcome to forums!
inteltech2008 is wrong. A mortgage consultant will not be able to help you in filling out the legal property description in your quit claim deed form. You will have to contact a real estate attorney in this regard. He is the best person to help you in this matter.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

You can get the legal description from the previous deed granting you the property. Otherwise you may be able to go to the county tax assessor's office and get the legal description there. The tax assessor may also have a website where you can look up the legal description from the property address. Usually the legal description is something like "lot 1 block 2 smith division". Older legal descriptions use "metes and bounds" which would look something like this: "10 feet from the old tree on the northwest corner..."
need example of legal description in Lancaster County, PA.
Hi Judy,
It will be better if you could get in touch with a real estate attorney and he will let you know how to formulate the legal description in Lancaster County, PA. It won't be possible to provide you with examples here!
Thanks
