My husband is behind on with one of his creditors, and the creditor that he
is behind with also holds the mortgage to our home.

He has been trying to resolve this matter.

My question is can this creditor put a lien on our home for the separate bill that is in default?
Welcome AJ,

The creditor cannot place a lien on your home for the unpaid loan balance on any other property. By the way, what separate bill are you talking about?

Well adonis, he must be talking about some other loans which the creditor has offered him. The same creditor must be holding his mortgage also and hence he is a bit disturbed. But I think there's no such thing to worry about. The creditor cannot place a lien on home due to the loan which is not taken against the same home.

God bless you.

Hi AJ,

I agree with Adonis and Samantha that your creditor cannot place a lien on your home because of a defaulted loan that is not taken against the same property.
