I being living with my elderly parents for about 15 years now my stepfather and I. Are joint tenants of of the property we still owe about half of the morgage loan. due to my step father poor health he was admited to a convalecent home. cover by medical, will removing my stepfather from the deed, send redflags to medical on them trying to take the house oway,,
Hi Guest,

Any change to the property deed at this point in time would not be a good thing to do. Your stepfather is the legal owner of the property and as long as he has the intention of returning to the property, Medical cannot come after it or put a lien on it.

Hi Guest,

As far as I know, if your stepfather transfers the property to you through a lady bird deed with the intention of returning to the property, Medical will not come after the property as long as he is living. Even if he is deceased, but his spouse is living and is occupying the property as primary residence, Medical will not recover the property. But in this case, when your step father is deceased, Medical can take away the property from you.
