My mother has a life estate in a house in which I live. I have the complete remainder interest in the property. My mother is very elderly; I take care of her and I have durable power of attorney with health care surrogate provisions. I am not sure if I have the right to have interfering relatives removed from the property for trespassing, or not. Who is the owner for the purpose of denying entry to the property??
wow...if you're the owner, then you're the owner. life estate concerns her ability to remain in that home and (in my view) is equivalent to a lien on the property, in a sense.
