I'm single, have a mortgage on my home; but, want to leave my house (as stated in my will) to a designated person. Since there's a mortgage, what should I do in order for her to take over the property and pay the mortgage?
Talk to your lender about designating a beneficiary. They should be able to tell you what they would require for a beneficiary to assume the mortgage, if they allow it.
