wife died in 2004 and we were joint tenants in common with no right of surviorship. I want to remove her from the mortgage document, how can this be done? Thanks

you should go to the county records office with the existing property deed and your wife's death certificate. They will issue a new title, with you as the sole owner of the property.
Good luck and feel free to ask

i hope your wife will not prepared any will. in the absence of will, you can submit her death certificate along with affidevit of heirship in local county office. this will help you in removing her name from property & then you will be sole owner of property

hi brooklyn,
you can file an affidavit of heirship and remove your wife's name from the property deed. you can contact the county recorder's office and file the affidavit of heirship. as far as the loan is concerned, you need to refinance it to remove her name from the mortgage docs.
