hi,
my husband is on medicaid since march 2008. he is disabled/ severe stroke. i thave been taking care of him for more than a year. the property in in his name. due to our financial crisis, my brother is loaning the money. he is paying our mortgage, utility bills, property tax since my husband went to the hospital in 2008. we lately, 2 weeks ago, transferred the title in his name but we still live in our home. my brother has decided to refinance it since the mortgage rate was very high. since my husband can't qualify for a refinance, my brother did it to lower the mortgage. we mean to repay him once my husband gets better/ or i got a job and keep my husband home instead of sending him to a nursing home.
the bottom line is, the state send us a letter asking for more details about the home sales. is my husband going to lose his medicaid? what should we do

Hi ab!
Welcome to forums!
It would have been better if you haven't transferred the property to your brother. There are chances that your husband would lose his medicaid benefits if this deal goes through. In my opinion, you should consult an attorney immediately and take his opinion in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

That would be a good place to start
