i live in california. i purchased a house when i was still married. my now ex husband signed away all his rights to the house at the closing. (as i did for his) we both paid cash for both houses with the money we got from selling the home we owned together. because my title says a marrried woman and even though i have the correct documentation, my bank is asking for me to change my marital status on my title before they will approve a home equity loan. how do i do that?
Probably check with the county office, they will have a way to correct this
you can go for correction deed. get it drafted by a good attorney
