My grandmother is in a nursing home (she has been for the last 3 years). As her grandchild the house is to go to me. We were looking into the Ladybird Deed, but we are concerned that it will affect her medicaid. I have no intention of selling the house until well after she has passed on. Can anyone give me any advise that will help me know if this is the right thing to do? The original plan was to give us the house after she passes. My fear is that Medicaid will then put a lien on it costing us big money!

Transferring property though a ladybird deed will not affect your grandmother's Medicaid benefit if she decides to come back to the property or if her close relatives/heirs stay in that property. To know more about this check out the given page:
