my mother dies and left her free and clear home to my brother and i. it is currently in probate, however i am the executor with letters of testamentary. i bought out my brothers interest, can we just sign a quick claim deed to transfer over his interest to me. then what do i do to change the deed? i am not going to re-sale the house, i am going to live in it forever.
Hi kwalker!

Welcome to forums!

You can ask your brother to sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to you once the probate is complete. Once he does so, you need to record the deed at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
