My grandma quit claim her house to herself and myself so that if she passed away I get it or if I passed away it remained hers. Grandma daughter then had my grandma quit claim the house to her and she paid it off. The house is now only in my aunts name only. I never signed anything and my grandma dosnt know she signed it over to my aunt. I now need a place to live and the House has been empty for three years. Was this done legal and can I live there vwithout aunts permissio
If you were once on title and did not sign your interests away, then someone either forged your signature or someone messed up on recording the proper deed. If you were on title. I would investigate this. If your aunt is now the sole owner of the property, then who she wants to live there is her decision. You need to have the chain of title reviewed by an attorney. Good Luck

Hi missrein!

Welcome to forums!

If the property was already transferred to you before her daughter got it transferred in her name, then you should be considered as the legal owner of the property. You should contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
