With my divorce many years ago the deed to my home/property (New Jersey) was put in my name at that time. I am remarried and want to take advantage of freezing my property taxes by adding my spouse to the deed-he is a senior but I won't be a senior for another 6 years. Will a quit claim do? Should I go thru a title company? Please advise.
Hi Stevie!

You can use a quit claim deed in order to add your present husband's name to the property deed. It's better to contact an attorney who can help you in drafting the deed. Once you fill out the deed, you need to notarize and record it at the county recorder's office.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
