My granmother passed away 6 mths ago. She was in a nursing home at the time of her passing. She owned property and the state took clain. No one else is interested in the proberty, so I contacted medicaid and had the property excempted. I called them and they said I could do with the property as I wish it is mine. Can I get a guit-claim deed.
Hi Tammy Bryson!
Welcome to forums!
As the owner of the property is already deceased, you can get a quitclaim on the property. You can file an affidavit of heirship in the county recorder's office and then get the property transferred in your name.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
