Can my husband waive his right to the home and then place his name om the deed at a later time?

I am about to close on my home in about 4 days but my husband does not have proper ID to be placed on the deed (his drivers liscence has expired). Can he waive his rights to be on the deed and then be placed back on there at a later time?
Hi bbeadle,

You can add your husband's name to the property deed at a later period by using a quit claim deed. I don't think there would be any issues with that. However, if your husband's name is mentioned on the mortgage docs, then the lender will want him to be on the property deed at the closing.
