My husband and I dont currently own a home and would like to purchase a home in another state. As both of our incomes are based in our home state, will it be possible to claim primary residence in the state where we want to buy a home as his company is requiring him to work in that area about half the year? If so what documentation would be needed from his employer to prove residency so we dont need pay higher apr rate for vacation home?
You can only have ONE primary residence and would have to prove that he will be there more than 6 months per year. A letter from his company woul suffice
