helped my husbands cousin purchas a house using my name, credit line, etc. but usint the cousins monies.. now i want my credit line/rate,and life in general back. its been 5 years, she, the cousin, wants me to put her and her husband on the deed, but this felt hinky then and still does.
what can i do? her credit was bad back in 1/2004, and now we are not talking by her on choice..... help!!
hi barbara,

what i understand is that the loan and the title are still in your name and your cousin now wants them in her name. right?

well, if it's so, you can quitclaim the property to her using a quitclaim deed. however, quitclaiming doesn't relieve you from the loan. thus you can quitclaim the title after obtaining a written promise from your cousin that once the property is transferred to her she'll refinance it in her name. otherwise, you'll be left to make payments for the loan without having the title in your name.
