Can I put my name on a deed

Posted on: 28th Jul, 2010 08:34 am
I have Durable POA for a parent who is incompetent. Can I put my name on the deed of the property? I have been maintaining the house and the lawn but no one lives in the house and it is getting to be too much for me. I would like to rent the house or sell it. I live in Florida.
Hi twoberners!

Welcome to forums!

You can use the power of attorney in order to get the property transferred in your name. This will make you the owner of the property. Once you fill out the deed, you'll have to record it at the county recorder's office.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
