So here is the situation.
My uncle bought a townhome in which I am paying him directly for it.
My last payment to him next month in which then the house will be transfered to me.
1) do I still qualify for a the tax credit?
2) Do i just go to a title company to get it transfered and send that in with my application for the tax credit?

Hi sandmand,
If you've not owned any property in the last three years, then you can definitely take advantage of the first time homebuyers tax credit. You will be able to claim the tax credit while filing your taxes. To know more about first time homebuyers tax credit, check out the following page:

I think in this case property is still not on your name then if you buy now immediately from your uncle then it will surely fetch you the tax benefit.....
