Welcome RKimbrough,
Unless the person transfers the property to you, it won't be possible for you to get back the property in your name. You will have to ask the person to sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property to you.

"If I quickclaimed my home over to a family friend who agreed to refinance the home into his name in one year and three years later has not refinanced. The mortgage company is calling me because the payment is not being made can I get the house back?"
You may have legal recourse if there was Quid pro quo and you can prove it. Quit claim in exchange for removing you from the mortgage certainly passes the legal test for "consideration", which would make it a valid contract; but you will want to consult an attorney as they would best be able to advise you. I am not one!
