Quit Claim Deed

Posted on: 05th Dec, 2008 07:08 am
my mother will soon be 90 and it is getting increasing difficult for my brother and i to take care of her since she has a bad case of demencia. my father is deceased and she owns her own property. if we eventually have to put her in a home, is a quit claim deed the way to go if we are to protect her home? also, is it to late, at this point, for her to sign such a document?
Hi dindaevans,

I don't think the quitclaim deed signed by your mother will be considered valid as you have mentioned that she is facing dementia. I think it's too late for her to sign the deed now.

Thanks
