Our mom who is in an assisted living facility has a asset which is a homesteaded lake home in Michigan and will run out of cash in the next 3 years and go on Medicare. Can our family protect the property to keep it for future generations ? We were thinkinking of an quick claim deed or an lady bird deed will either of these work?
Hi
A lady bird deed is valid in some of the states like Florida, Ohio, California etc. As far as I know it's not applicable in Michigan, but I'm not very sure about it. However, a quitclaim deed can surely be used.

Hi, I just talk to a lawyer in Mi. He said I should this for our mother. Its inexpensive too!
if a lady bird can't be done in Mich. how about a quik claim to avoid probate?
