My husband and I moved from MA to VA in October. We accepted an offer on our MA home soon after and are going to close at the end of the month. We are not planning to be in MA any time before the closing so can we get the deed notarized in VA for our MA home?

As far as I know, officials from states other than where the house is situated can also notarize the deed. However, this will also depend upon the County Recorder of that state. Moreover, you should remember that though you notarize the deed by officials of other state, you will have to record it in MA. You cannot record it in any other state.
