My name is on a title to family property. There is no mortgage on the property since it was recently paid off. Can I do a quick deed claim to remove my name from the property and/or a title transfer?
Please help. Thank you.

hi adbates,
welcome to mortgagefit forum.
yes you can use a quit claim deed to remove your name from property title. and as there is no mortgage on the property there should be any problem in doing so.

Bates, quit claim deed is mostly used in family property transfers and as mortgage is already paid off there should not be any difficulty with removal of your name.
One more thing, for this change in property ownership take help of an attorney so that no error takes place and the transfer completes correctly.
