Removal from title

Posted on: 06th Jan, 2013 07:17 pm
Hello,
My boyfriend and I, at the time, had bought a Mobile home trailer together. We paid it in full with my savings and a private loan from his father. I paid 40% and his father paid the remaining 60%. I have since moved out but my name is still on the title. How do I get my name off the title? Does he owe me my 40% or do I walk away with only the removal of my name? Also what forms are needed? I have no idea where to start, any advice is welcomed! Thank you!
Hi Nicole,

You can sign a quitclaim deed and transfer your share of the property to your boyfriend. This will help you get rid of the property ownership. It will depend upon you whether or not you will claim your 40%.

Thanks

if you are responsible for paying 40% of the loan and if you have all the documents, then you have 40% share in that property. now, whether you want to take it or not to take it, depends entirely upon you. but, in order to get your name off the property, you have to take the help of a quit claim deed.
