When I purchased this one famly house, I added my grandaughter as co-owner, but I pay the mortgasge. I bought a new property listed on her name only. I would like to remove her name as co-owner of the previous house since I have other grandchildren and I want to leave part of the house to them. I obtained a quieck deed thru an atty, who charged me $500.00 and to register it with Broward county, he asked me for and additional $500.00 that I don't have. What should I do now? Thanks
Fire the attorney and go to your local title company. They can prepare the deed needed for 10th of the price. Deed recording at the county costs less than 100.00 in most states.

Hi aidamuniz,

I agree with Guest. Your attorney is charging you excess amount for preparing and recording the deed.

Aida, what sort of legal opinion did you get from this first attorney? If you and your granddaughter are owners of this first property, you'll need her assent to make any changes. Have you acquired her consent?

>>Have you acquired her consent?

That was going to be my question too.
