After my mother passed away she left her four properties to my brother and I. I recently got into some trouble and am being sued for a large sum of money. We have had a few of the properties recently on the market and now my fear is there will be a lean put on them. What can I do to get my name off and what would the cheapest route?
Hi allangie!
Welcome to forums!
You can transfer the property to your brother by signing a quit claim deed. However, you should note that transferring the property when you are being sued for a large sum of money can be considered as fraudulent and the creditors may take legal actions against you. Thus, take the opinion of an attorney before transferring the property.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
