My grandparents left a warranty deed w/life estate on their property in Indiana. Now deceased, my aunt is in control. My part is 1/3 of 1/4 (split between my siblings). I do not want to "own this property" and wish to have my part bought out. In addition when they set up the warranty deed, they owned 60+ acres, supposedly other realatives have bought that land-apparently not noted anywhere.
How can I get my part bought out?
If it's a legal battle, can I just quit claim my part to someone who would make their lives miserable? (the renters of the property/)

Hi roberta,
You can contact the other heirs and let them know that you don't want the property and ask anyone of them to buy you out. If they are willing to do so, then you should transfer the property to them in lieu of the money. If they are not ready to do so, then you can sell your share of the property to someone else.
