Hi, there.. Me and my sister are on, our decease mothers home. I've, personally put the house in probate and have paid the property taxes since 2003. I can no longer afford to pay 7,000.00 a year in tax on this home. My sister is nowhere to be found since 2005. I've sent letters to her last known address. I would really rather sell the property. Then, to see it go for unpaid taxes. She even ordered to register her address with the courts. She has not done that in 3yrs. I'd like to sell. This is now going on 3yrs. I can't take it nomore. I'm hurt she doesn't care. But,I'd just rather take her off the deed..She's a no show. Thank U, Diaka Law
Hi chequilalaw,
In order to remove your sister from the property deed, you will have to ask her to sign a quitclaim deed. You cannot remove her from the deed. She will sign the deed and transfer the property to you. Once she does so, then you can sell off the property.
Take care.

i have a son who needs to be removed off the deed, he has drug problems
Hi cindy,
You will have to ask your son to sign a quitclaim deed in your name and transfer the property to you. Once, he fills out the deed, you need to notarize and record the deed at the county recorder's office.
Thanks
