Rental property

My husband & I own our house together with our kids, we want to buy some rental property with his sister & her husband, the husbands are going to put it in their name only, do I have rights? We are very happily married and we thought it would be easier in their names (I have good credit) but I am looking to protect myself too. Should I be put on the loan? Also, his mom came into some money & put it into an account in his name only at her bank, she gave it to us as a gift around christmas, am I entitled to this? Should I have my name put on the account? We may use some of this money to put down on the rental property, does that mean anything because that account is only in his name?
You can request your husband to shell out some money from that account to buy the rental property. It would be wise to put your name in the deal.

Hi lena!

Welcome to forums!

You will be considered as one of the heirs to your husband's share of the property. Moreover, once your husband buys the property, you can ask him to add your name to the property deed.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
