After a divorce signing over all rights to the house is she still able to collect the escrgrow tax r...When you get divorced and the other person signs over in the divorce decree all the rights to the house and is bought out, but after the divorce wont sign the paper work to get there name off the mortgage even though they dont pay on it for over two years, does this person have the right to get the escrgow tax money just because her name is still on the mortgage. Can she legally do that?

Hi Guest!
Welcome to forums!
You need to contact your attorney and check out if he can help you in this matter. If not, then you need to contact your ex-wife and ask her to cash in the money and give it to you.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Your attorney will tell you to contact your ex-wife - save your money and don't ask the question. Truly, since Chase didn't know that she had no interest in the property any longer, they did what they're legally bound to do - issue a check to the owners of record as far as they know. Oh my - that phrase (as far as they know) is used way too often around here.
Anyway, you'll need to contact her one way or the other to get her to sign off on this check; else you'll have to split it with her.

My husband put the house insurance in his name only without me knowing. The insurance was paid from our escrow account. We got divorced recently. I got new insurance in my name only. The house is mine; he signed a quit claim. The pro rated refund of about 6 months of insurance payment is supposed to go to my ex-husband because that insurance was in his name only. Does this hold true? Is there any way that I can get the unused insurance balance instead?
Hi believerwoman!

As the insurance was in your husband's name, the check will also come in his name. I don't think you will be able to get the unused insurance balance.

After divorcing, I refinanced the mortgagee. The old mortgagor send the overage check to me, with both my ex's and my (old) name on it. Does he have to sign off on it? I made all of the mortgage payments in the last year.
Welcome Tchr,
If his name is on the check, then there are chances that he will have to sign it.
