just found out that my grandfather had passed away in 2001 and no member on my grandfathers side bothered to inform me. I sent for the 3 pages of his will where I'am in the will two separate times. At the beginning of the will before all the paragraphs come in says that he gives, devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of his property of every kind, real, personal and mixed, and wheresoever situated to his wife. His wife is my Aunt who is still living and in her 90's but is being taken care of by my Uncle Bob who can't stand me. They all live in Florida and I'm in Ky. Is there anyway I can get what my grandfather wanted me to have or do I have to wait till my Aunt passes away and I know nobody will ever let me know. I'm feeling really left out of my dads family and they never even bothered to tell me he had passed away either. Do I have any kind of rights here? Thanks. By the way the will didnot have a lawyers name on it and by the stamp of the courthouse says the will has not been admitted to probate.
Hi Sjr,
May be your grandfather wanted to transfer all his property to his wife without any kind of probate.
It will be better if you verify the thing with a lawyer.

Hi,
You have said that the will has not been admitted to probate. So, it has no authorization. I think it is better for you to consult with a lawyer to make sure what is actually happening.
Thanks,
Larry

Hi Sjr,
Welcome to the forums.
From what I can understand, your grandfather hasn't mentioned your name in the Will. But then you have also mentioned that you were in the Will two separate times. Can you please explain what exactly you are trying to say?
I don't think you will have any rights to the property title your aunt passes away and also if she doesn't make a Will or use a transfer-on-death deed so that you can get it after her death.
Take Care

First off on the will he left me a diamond ring of my Aunts but she's still living so I know that I wouldn't be receiving that. But on Page 2 he's giving 2/3 of one of said shares in equal proportions to his surviving grandchildren and my name is one of them. He also left shares to my Dad who passed away in 2002 but my grandfather passed in 2001. My Dads will left me nothing. I thought whatever my grandfather left my dad I would receive as thats what my grandfathers will said. My Aunt who is my grandfathers wife was bequeathed all the rest and if she wasn't capable of being the personal representative of his estate then he appointed his daughter. I was never sent a certified letter or anything in regards to my fathers death or my grandfathers. I just don't think its right that I've not been informed of anything. Someone told me that I did have rights but I don't know how I can find out being here in Ky when all this is happening in Florida.
Hello Sjr,
I think you need to check the will once again to find out whether you get your share after your grandfather's death or after grandmother's death. May be it is still in her name and you can get it only after she passes away.
If you are supposed to get that after your grandfather's death, I think you have the right to claim it.
