Can I be forced to sell?

Posted on: 05th Aug, 2009 11:11 pm
I recently purchased a manufactured home with my ex-husband(stupid,I know), and we have not even moved in yet. I want his name off of the mortgage, but I had to have his income to qualify for the loan, and I don't think that I can qualify for the refinancing on my own. I have no doubt that I will be able to make the payments. Can he force me to sell the house?
no one can force you to sell off the property. however, your ex-husband may want you to refinance the property asap because he may want to remove his name from the property and mortgage. if you are unable to refinance, he would remain liable for the mortgage dues and will not be able to qualify for another mortgage for a property of his own.
