Seller will not sign the release of lien

Posted on: 03rd Aug, 2010 12:35 pm
I finished paying for a property in 2008. I have sent the seller numoerous letter requesting that she send me a release of lien so that I can finish the construction of my house. I cannot get her to send me the release of lien nor can I get in touch with her. What else can I do? I can't afford an attorney. Can someone please tell me what I can do. I live in texas.
Welcome monkeytroop,

You should try and contact the seller in person and try to get a release of lien from her. Unless you receive a release of lien from her, you won't be considered as debt free in regards to the concerned property. In case, you can't contact her, then you'll have to take the help of an attorney.

You may go to court and get the lien released. I am in Houston and may be able to help. Send me a private message with your email address if you like.
