Hi there… My father passed away few days back. There are no other heirs. Will I be able to sell off his condo?
Hi Forlorn,
Unless the property is in your name, you won't be able to sell it off. Moreover, if there is a mortgage on the property and if the lender does not get the mortgage dues on time, then the lender will sell off the property to recover the loan.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Forlorn!
Welcome to forums!
As Jerry has said, you won't be able to sell off the condo unless the property gets transferred in your name. You can file an affidavit of heirship at the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in your name. Then you can sell off the property.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries
